FAQ

SOLIDReporter SOLO is an add-in that is installed in SOLIDWORKS®. Its first purpose is to automatically record the times and events of the single user to whom the product license is granted. It can only output reports and summaries for this identified user.

SOLIDReporter SOLO also allows recording comments/notes, that will then facilitate project monitoring and feedback management.

SOLIDReporter TEAM REPORT is installed outside SOLIDWORKS®. Its first goal is to compile and analyze a data set created by several users of the SOLO version to produce group reports. SOLIDReporter TEAM REPORT is more dedicated to project managers or to the person in charge of team administration.

YES: (i) if you are the only SOLIDWORKS® user with a SOLO version, SOLIDReporter TEAM REPORT would not provide you with anything more, (ii) if you do not want to compile and analyze data for a group of users, then the SOLO version is sufficient, (iii) the same applies if your personal time data is then "reinjected" into a general application already in place.

YES but of course these reports will be limited to your use only and will not take into account the work of other coworkers.

NO: SOLIDReporter TEAM REPORT can only manage and analyze data recorded by at least 2 copies of SOLIDReporter SOLO.

NO: SOLIDReporter SOLO is dedicated to a single user identified by their email address.

YES: Your SOLIDReporter SOLO copy can be installed on as many computers as you wish if, and only if, it is used by the same identified user.

You must purchase a SOLIDReporter SOLO license for each user. Both users will be able to register (set up a profile) on this computer. When starting a work session, the current user will select their profile from the pop-up menu. You will not have to close the SOLIDWORKS® session when switching users.

Only for the registration process and at least once a month for the creation of summary reports. The rest of the time, it can be used without an Internet connection.

YES: It needs a permanent Internet connection, which is not the case for SOLIDReporter SOLO!

You must purchase a copy of SOLIDReporter SOLO for each different version of SOLIDWORKS® that you use. This licensing policy allows us to offer free maintenance as long as you keep the same SOLIDWORKS® version and to offer extremely low prices.

Let's look at an example: SOLIDReporter TEAM REPORT 2020 allows you to compile and process time data recorded by SOLO on all SOLIDWORKS® 2020 or earlier versions. If one of the users switches to SOLIDWORKS® 2021 and acquires a corresponding SOLO version, then a TEAM REPORT 2021 copy (or 2022, 2023...) must be purchased. Once again this licensing policy allows us to offer free maintenance as long as you keep the same SOLIDWORKS® versions and to offer extremely low prices.

You will have to buy a new license just as you would have to buy new business cards when you change your email address.

You will have to buy a new license dedicated to the new employee just as you would have to buy new business cards for a new employee. It is also the only solution to be able to differentiate the hourly summaries of each person.

Only the postal address of your company at the time of purchase, the name and email address of the buyer and the user, the serial number of the product, the associated invoice number and finally the VAT ID if applicable. The time data, project ID's, tasks... are only stored on your disks and never pass through our servers.

Absolutely! And only you can make the backups because only you (or your IT department) have access to the databases. All time data, project ID's, tasks... are stored on your disks and never pass through our servers.
